“国际地理学大会（International Geographical Congress, IGC）创办于1871年。140多年来，在世界各地已经成功地举办了32届国际地理学大会。尤其是1922年国际地理联合会（International Geographical Union, IGU）成立后，在IGU的主导下，国际地理学大会已经成为全球地理学界规模最大、学术水平最高、影响力最强的国际盛会。“第33届国际地理大会”于2016年8月21-25日在北京国家会议中心召开。王静爱教授指导并资助了11篇论文，其中口头报告9个，展板2个，指导的学生涉及8名博士，4名硕士和6名本科生。
